Project: Grosvenor House Hotel

Client: Royal Bank of Scotland

Value: £19.0m

Duration: 78 weeks

The principle works were to the external facades and involved structural remedial work to the brick, stone and steel structure. This incorporated on the south block a cathodic protection system to the internal steel structure. The sash windows to all elevations were overhauled and redecorated.

Within the south block, a complete strip-out was undertaken which entailed the demolition of the internal fabric and the removal and diversion of the existing services from the 2nd to 8th floors with substantial works at roof level to the associated plant.

The formation of 4 new lifts shafts and the installation of new lifts were also included in the works.

This project demanded continuous liaison with a variety of parties especially as the hotel continued to operate at optimum level whilst the works were carried out.
