Project: Waverlygate

Client: Castlemore Securities

Value: £34.6m

Contract: Novated Design & Build

Duration: 36 months

This unusual project comprised the development of the former GPO in Waterloo Place, Edinburgh to provide over 20,000m2 of modern, high-quality office space within the original buildings sandstone envelope.

During construction this was the largest retained façade in Europe. Built within a tight city centre site and directly above one of the UK’s largest railway stations a twelve month demolition phase was followed by the construction of an eight storey inner building over the issuing two years.

The success of Waverlygate has been followed by further major project awards from Castlemore in Holborn, London and Temple Quays, Bristol.
