Potterrow School of Informatics Client: University of Edinburgh Value: £37.5m Contract: Design and Build (Nov) Duration: 24 months Balfour Beatty’s relationship with the University of Edinburgh is that we have enjoyed a continuous presence on site within their estate over each of the past 12 years. Over this period the company has executed over two dozen contracts of a total value of around £150m.
The Potterrow project is the latest of these awards and comprises of a new centralised School of Informatics (which was originally located in 5 different buildings) consisting of offices, meeting rooms, specialist laboratories and a large internal atrium therefore greatly improving academic interaction. This school is the leading one of its kind in the United Kingdom with a top 5* rating and is the fourth most respected informatics department in the world. ![]() |
