The primary objective for this project was to construct new facilities that would meet the requirements of the local community whilst regenerating and integrating the existing facilities.

The project included a 900-place secondary school, a city learning centre, a ‘one stop shop’ for Liverpool City Council, a library, an adventure playground, a leisure centre, childcare facilities and offices for South Liverpool Housing.

By working together with the client and the local community to finalise the design and develop a handover phasing strategy, the end result is a finished project that everyone is proud of. Safety on all Balfour Beatty projects is the number one priority and this project was no exception.

A Duty Safety Manager system was introduced to monitor site activities and ensure that procedures were adhered to.
