Balfour Beatty Refurbishment Ltd are one of Homes for Islington’s framework contractors, appointed to carry out improvements to the housing stock over five years as part of the Government’s Decent Homes Initiative. Works to estates, high-rise blocks and street properties include; kitchen replacements, window renewals, roof repairs and environmental improvement works.

The first project, as part of the framework, was at the Andover Estate, Islington, North London. The £24m works to the estate included external façade repairs, roofing works and window replacements in addition to internal works. The project was administered under the PPC 2000 Form of Contract. We worked with HfI to vary their programme and we were able to complete the overall project early and under budget with savings passed back to the client to invest in additional works.

The team have forged close relationships with the residents and the client’s team. We have also been awarded Considerate Contractors Awards for our work on the estate.
